Smythe & Cross Day of Giving Back
Updated: Dec 20, 2022
Smythe & Cross has always been proud to be a part of the Los Altos, and greater Silicon Valley community. We are always happy to support the many local organizations and charities that provide support and services to many in our community and beyond.
As part of this ongoing effort, Smythe & Cross has creating a Day of Giving Back with proceeds from the day's sales to be donated to a local charity. The first of these was held on Friday, December 7, in conjunction with Los Altos First Friday.
With so many worthwhile charities to work with, our focus this year was on the victims of the Camp fires in Northern California. Through the recommendation of our dear friend, Cheryl Jennings (@cherylabc7) of KGO/Channel 7, we selected the North Valley Community Foundation.
After a busy day of sales and with additional generous donations from our clients, we were very happy to send the foundation $5000 towards their Camp Fire Relief fund. For more information about the fund, or to make a donation, visit nvcf.org

As part of our Day of Giving Back, Smythe & Cross opened its doors to Paul's Firehouse Granola - a small business owned and operated by Paul Marshall, a San Jose firefighter. We discovered Paul and his all-organic, all-natural granola while shopping at Pottery Barn. Paul was among other small businesses who were offered space to gain visibility and market their products. We thought we would do the same by supporting another small business and were thrilled to host Paul for a first-ever pop-up in our store.
Visitors that evening were treated to samples of Paul's Firehouse Granola and were able to purchase jars to take home. According to Smythe & Cross President Khatchig Jingirian, it is "dangerously delicious!!" Smythe & Cross will stock the granola through the holidays for those interested in purchasing more - proceeds from which are donated to the San Jose Firefighters' Burn Foundation.
